We created Kaleidoscope with safety in mind. Safety for your children and safety for your information. We will never sell any of your data to outside sources nor will there ever be any advertising within the app. We use (and pay for) the highest quality and safest video chat software to ensure your child’s privacy is protected during video playdates with their friends. Additionally, monthly fees discourage users who might try to use the app for reasons that aren’t aligned with why we created Kaleidoscope - keeping children connected with their friends.

    While parental diligence is ALWAYS necessary and there are risks of misuse any time children have access to technology, we have done everything possible to keep children safe including:

  • Avatar options for a child’s profile photo are built into the app if you are not comfortable uploading a photograph.
  • Option of screening friend requests through preset location-specific security questions that are completely controlled by parents/guardians
  • Option of blocking, deleting or reporting users who you feel are of concern
  • Friend profiles show where they met your child so you always know the connection source

Yes! You can create profiles for as many children in your family as you like.

You can add as many locations as you like for each child and have different security questions for each location. Once your child is connected with friends from a location, they stay in your child’s friend list so they can always stay in touch.

With other video chat apps like FaceTime or Google Meets, you need to have the other child’s personal or parent contact information. Kaleidoscope allows families to find their child’s friends through location-based searches. Search for friends by school or daycare name, address and your child’s class/grade. Location-based searches remove the barrier of connecting children with their friends no matter what.

We ask for your credit card details to reduce fraud and to prevent multiple free trials for one person. We won’t bill you for your membership during your free trial. Payment for your subscription comes after your trial period and you can cancel it at any time before your trial ends.

Not at all! You will only be billed after your trial ends. You can cancel at any time. We want you to feel this is the best way for your child/ren to stay in touch with their friends, but if you don’t we understand!
